Jacob Cohen had two requests for his bar mitzvah: He wanted to read the story of Jacob and to become a bar mitzvah in a special Jewish place.

Since his 13th birthday was Nov. 29, it fit with the parsha of Vayetze, which was about Jacob’s dream. And as for the place? “To Jake, there is no more special Jewish place than camp,” according to his mom, Andrea Cohen.
