Out of bounds

In the last edition, there was a picture of two men, entering into a “marriage” (“A chuppah of equality,” Jewish News, June 17). The country and the state may well recognize the union of two men as a marriage, but the holy Torah is very clear on this issue. Homosexuality is termed a toeiva, an abomination. It’s not open to discussion, it’s an abomination, an aveira, a sin. I believe what people do is their own business. If two men want to have a relationship, that’s their business, but don’t propose it’s a marriage under the laws of the Torah. Two men want to live together, and have a sexual relationship, that’s their business. To give it sanctity is clearly not within the boundaries of the Torah.
