My family and I enthusiastically welcome the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Phoenix’s acquisition of Phoenix’s 68-year-old Jewish News. Our family – my parents, Cecil and Pearl Newmark, followed by my husband Paul and me – owned and published Jewish News for 52 of those years, until my retirement in 2013, motivated always by a deep commitment to our community.

We are profoundly grateful to current Publisher Jaime Stern for her sound leadership at Jewish News for the past three years, and to JCF President and CEO Rich Kasper and the JCF Board of Directors, for establishing a visionary succession plan that ensures a robust future for Jewish News as a community asset. We are confident that Jewish News, in print and online, will continue to bind our community together through excellent reporting on the people, organizations and places that compose our vibrant communal life.

We extend warmest wishes to Jaime, Rich, the JCF leaders and Jewish News staff.
