Shirley R. Haber, beloved wife of the late Benno Haber, died on Nov. 30, 2017, in Scottsdale. Shirley enjoyed time with her daughters and grandchildren and traveling the world with her husband. A perpetual source of positive energy and light, Shirley’s presence infused all who knew her with love. Shirley’s greatest joy in life was her family. Shirley was born on July 3, 1928, in Eau Claire, Wisc. During World War II her family moved to Hattiesburg, Miss. She earned a degree as an X-ray technician in Philadelphia and later moved to Buffalo, NY, where she met her first husband, and father to her children, Bernie Frydrych. After his passing, she married Benno and moved to Tarrytown, NY. Shirley and Benno spent the latter part of their lives in Scottsdale, enjoying the warmer weather, family and friends. Shirley is survived by daughters Barbara (Jerry) Landau of Scottsdale, Sandra Haber of Boulder, Colo., and Dianne (Mike); four grandchildren, Michelle, Benjamin, Nathan and Hannah; and four great-grandchildren. Donations in Shirley’s honor can be made to Congregation Shomrei Torah.
