Alfred J. Nida passed away on July 10, 2017 in Scottsdale, AZ where he continued to reside after retirement. He is survived by his loving wife, “Dolores”, nee Doris of 60 years marriage and two sons Jack B. Nida,(wife Deb), Ross G. Nida and granddaughter, Laura A. Nida. Al was born in Detroit on October 15, 1931. He served in the United States Air Force for 4 years, with tour of duty mainly in Japan. He then attended the Detroit Institute of Technology and the University of Michigan. Al worked for the Wayne County Road Commission in the Real Estate Division, where he retired after 31 years and then resumed a like career for 11 years for ADOT, State of Arizona. Al loved his long daily walks with his 4-legged companion, Tia. He also loved spectator sports, particularly the Detroit teams, card games, live theater,

old movies and kept abreast of world affairs. A Celebration of Life prayer service will be held on Friday, July 21st at 10:30 am. at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85024, where his urn will be placed, followed by receipt of family and friends at their home. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to your desired charity and/or sent to The Infinity Hospice Foundation, Smile On Seniors, or Jewish War Veterans. Arrangements by Sinai Mortuary.
