Elaine Sarah Nelson

Elaine Sarah Nelson, 68, of Mesa, died on March 25. Born in Brockton, Massachusetts, she was a registered nurse.

She was a member of the Temple Emanuel Sisterhood and the Cancer Action Network.

She is survived by her husband Richard Nelson; daughters Rachel Nelson and Abigail Weigele; and sisters Lynda Nelson and Judith Chaskes.

Services were held at Green Acres with Rabbi David Pinkwasser officiating.

Donations can be made to Temple Emanuel or the American Cancer Society.

Arlene Schoenfeld

Arlene Schoenfeld, 90, of Phoenix, died on March 19. Born in Oswego, New York, she was a United States Postal Service clerk. She also was a past officer at the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

She is survived by daughters Maureen Downey of Chandler, Sheila Stern of Phoenix and Laurie Hamrick of Woodstock, Georgia; sons Glenn Schoenfeld of Phoenix and Mark Schoenfeld of Peoria; and brother Barry Karch of Coral Gables, Florida.

Schoenfeld had 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Beth El Cemetery with Rabbi Arthur Lavinsky officiating.

Contributions can be made to the Autism Society of Greater Phoenix.

Selma Wilf

Selma Wilf, 88, of Encino, California, died on March 24. Born in Pennsylvania, she was professor and administrator.

She is survived by her sons, Joel Wilf of Encino and Steven Wilf of New Haven, Connecticut; and three grandchildren.

Services were held at Beth El Cemetery with Rabbi David Rosenberg officiating.
