Sydney Lillian Goldfarb, daughter of Lara and David Goldfarb of Phoenix, will become a bat mitzvah on Nov. 11 at Temple Beth El.

Grandparents are Shirley and Stan Grossman of Phoenix; and Karen Berger Goldfarb of Cooper City, Florida. Late great-grandparents were Zelda and Sydney Fingleson of Tampa, Florida; and

Lillian Resnick Berger and Rabbi Maxwell Berger of Miami Beach.

For her mitzvah project, Sydney initiated a collection drive where she collected crayons for the Crayon Initiative. This company takes used crayons, melts them and re-manufactures crayons that are delivered to children in hospitals and to other worthy causes.

Sydney attends Stetson Hills Elementary School and her hobbies include volleyball, soccer, singing, playing her clarinet and animals.
