Yeshiva High School of Arizona will dedicate a new Torah at 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, at 6804 N. 13th Place, Phoenix. The program will include the final letter writing and a buffet reception followed by a procession to the Torah's new home at the yeshiva.

The David and Ruth Semel Memorial Sefer Torah is being dedicated by Shaya and Pnina Semel and Yaakov and Shani Segal in memory of the grandparents of Rabbi Yossie Semel of the Phoenix Community Kollel. "They came from Europe in the 1940s and they really believed in Jewish education at a time where it was not popular in America," said Rabbi Yossie Semel of his grandparents. "It is a tremendous merit for us to have the Torah dedicated in their memory."
