Construction has started for Kivel Campus of Care's new 15-bed memory-care unit, which will be part of the Phoenix senior-living community's assisted-living facility.

Funding comes from a $3.9 million grant that Kivel received from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in 2010.
