School elects officers, board

The King David School has elected its executive officers and board of directors for 1999-2000.

Elected were: Author and lecturer Judy Laufer as president; Richard Marmor, president of the Arbour Cos., as executive vice president; Mark Searle, dean of the College of Human Services at Arizona State University West as vice-president for education; American Express Tax & Business Services accountant Mark Brenner as treasurer; and Steptoe & Johnson attorney Bennett Cooper as secretary.

Members of the board are attorneys Fredda Bisman and Barry Becker, psychologist Laura Fichman, community volunteer Risa Mallin and educator Helen Rubenzik.

Zenith Management Co. President Ken Goldfine, Monterey Homes President Steve Hilton and Dr. Cristina Perlman, a neonatalogist, will serve two-year terms as parent members of the board.

Other incumbent board members are Mark Brenner, attorney Ben Cooper; family counselor Fay Palestrant; Beverly Rubenstein of Empire Metals, and educator Wylie Silverstein.

Co-chairmen Dale Sachs and Sarah Paikowsky will represent the parent-teacher organization.

Perlman and her husband, Dr. Alvin Perlman, and Silverstein and her husband, Dr. William Silverstein, will serve as co-chairmen of the school's fourth annual Masked Ball on Sunday, April 9, at the Scottsdale Hilton.
