Yeshiva scholars plant knowledge

Yeshiva scholars from around the country will present classes ranging from basic Jewish tradition and introductory Talmud study to advanced halacha (Jewish law) as part of the third annual Seed program of Young Israel of Phoenix.

Four yeshiva students, along with two couples from a kolel (yeshiva where students, mostly married, study and teach full-time), will teach classes and offer individual study sessions, under the auspices of the Torah U'mesorah National Dayschool Movement. The program runs Sunday, July 25, through Monday, Aug. 9, at Young Israel, 745 E. Maryland Ave., Suite 120, Phoenix.

A separate, two-week children's program will be offered for students in second-grade through high school. The program runs Monday, July 26, through Thursday, Aug. 4.

The cost for the children's program is $50 per child per week for members and $75 per child per week for non-members. The adult programs are free, although donations are welcome.

For information, call (602) 265-8888.
