Editor:
Thanks for the article about the Children's Asthma Research Institute and Hospital's installation of officers (Jewish News, May 7). It's through efforts such as yours that we are able to help those with respiratory problems - especially the children.

We are grateful for your help.

Israeli hopes for stability after vote

Editor:
As this letter is being written, it's been just a few hours since the Israeli polling stations closed their doors and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu conceded defeat. I hope that Ehud Barak will be able to form a stable coalition. It is in our interest to have a stable and strong government.

Israel is meeting with the Palestinians to determine final status. Also, we need stability for economic renewal and vigorous growth. But we also yearn for an end to the divisiveness and rancor among ourselves. We have to find ways to build together and grow stronger.

As a religious Israeli, I hope that Barak will help heal the divisions between us, by forming a broad-based government of national unity.

Breshin will be missed

Editor:
I am saddened to learn of Joel Breshin's resignation as the director of the Arizona office of the Anti-Defamation League (Jewish News, May 14). Joel has enriched our community in many ways by his conscientious and diligent service. He is highly respected as a person of great intelligence and integrity. His humility and modesty are refreshing.

Despite his unassuming nature, Joel is highly regarded by a wide cross-section of the community, including leading members of the Phoenix Police Department and Arizona state Legislature.

Joel will be missed. He brought a sense of competence, quiet confidence and dignity to every project he embraced. Selfishly, I am pleased that he will remain in our community so that we can continue to benefit from his many talents.
