Jewish actresses become wild Catholic nuns - in musical

Three Jewish women will dress up as Catholic nuns for awhile, as part of the five-member cast of "Sister Amnesia's Country Western Nunsense Jamboree" featured at the Phoenix Theatre.

Michelle Gardner, Leah Lodmell and Debby Rosenthal will perform as singing, dancing, joke-telling nuns who create country music mayhem. Rosenthal will return to the stage after a two-year hiatus to resume her "habit" of starring as Sister Amnesia. Marc Robin, the show's director, is also Jewish.

Show dates are Friday, Feb. 19, through Sunday, March 7. Show times are Tuesdays through Fridays, 8 p.m.; Saturdays, 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.; and Sundays, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. The Phoenix Theatre mainstage is located at 100 E. McDowell Road in Phoenix.

Admission prices are $23 to $25, and are available by calling the theatre box office, 254-2151, or Dillard's box office, 503-5555. For group sales, call 614-1676. For more information, call 258-1974.
