The program is set for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 24, at the home of Dr. Deborah Bernstein.

The Race for the Cure is set for Sunday, Oct. 11, at Park Central Mall. Proceeds will fund breast cancer education, screening and treatment projects throughout the state of Arizona, as well as fund research through the Susan G. Komen National Grant Program.

The 5K walk/run begins with registration at 6:30 a.m. The 1 Mile Family Run starts at 7:45 a.m. The Early 5K Run, for women 60 and older and men 65 and older, starts at 8:15 a.m. And the last event, the 5K Run and Walk, starts at 8:30 a.m.

More than 11,000 people participated in the 1997 event.

Entry forms can be picked up at Runner's Den, 6505 N. 16th St., JCPenney and Pier 1 locations. Packets also can be picked up the morning of the event.
