Chabad's Phoenix Preparatory High School to open this month

Parents of both registered and prospective students of the Phoenix Preparatory High School are invited to attend an open house at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 13, at the school, 2110 E. Lincoln Drive.

The open house will provide a forum for parents to ask questions about the school and its programs, to meet the faculty and view the classrooms.

The school, which was founded by Chabad of Arizona, will open on Monday, Aug. 24, for the first time with a ninth- and 10th-grade class. Administrators expect to add an 11th-grade class next year.

Robert Templin, formerly an administrator with the Tucson Unified School District, has been designated as the school's principal. Rabbi Leibel Blatner of New York is in charge of religious studies.

Other faculty members include: Morris Wolffe, English; Kimberly Lewis, algebra V; Jolene Khatibi, biology; Henia Sands, Hebrew language; and Bryan Weinfeld, physical education.
