Nominations sought for arts' volunteer awards

Business Volunteers for the Arts is seeking nominations for its eighth annual "Business in the Arts Awards" program. The awards honor Valley individuals, businesses and organizations that have illustrated combined knowledge of business and artistic integrity.

Awards in six categories will honor the top large business, small business, arts organization, arts advocate, arts volunteer and business volunteer.

Nomination forms are available from Business Volunteers for the Arts at 495-0187. Deadline for nominations is 5 p.m. Friday, July 24, at the group's office, 200 W. Washington St., Phoenix. Winners will be announced at an awards breakfast scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 26, at the Arizona Biltmore.

Business Volunteers for the Arts is a nonprofit organization that encourages beneficial relationships between the arts and business communities of Greater Phoenix. Volunteers are recruited from Valley businesses, trained and placed as consultants with nonprofit arts and cultural organizations.
