AJHS remembers 'The Way We Were' with traveling exhibit

The Arizona Jewish Historical Society's new traveling exhibit, "The Way We Were," opens Monday, June 22, at Temple Solel, 6805 E. McDonald Drive, where it will be open to the public during regular temple hours through Oct. 9.

"The Way We Were" uses quotes from 35 oral histories, recalling the era of the maggid (the old European storyteller) in answering questions about Jewish life in Arizona.

After leaving Temple Solel, the display will go next to a citywide history fair Oct. 10 at the Arizona Historical Society, 1300 N. College Ave., Tempe. Soon after that it will be at Temple Chai.

Other institutions and agencies that wish to display the exhibit may call the AJHS office, 241-2720, to book it.
