Tucson conference addresses womenThe University of Arizona in Tucson will be the site of the Western Jewish Studies Association's third annual conference, "Women in Jewish Life and Culture," April 6-8.Valley speakers will include Joel Gereboff, chair of the religious studies department at Arizona State University and a member of the WJSA executive board, who will address "Developing Jewish Social Services in Phoenix: The Politics and Discourse of Jewish Identity and Gender," as part of a panel discussion on "Inventing the Jewish Community"; and Rabbi Bonnie Koppell of Temple Beth Shalom, who will speak on "Female Rabbis in the Military: A View from the Trenches," as one of three women rabbis on a panel.
