Terry Epcar, co-owner of The Jewish Quarter Judaica store in Scottsdale, died Monday, April 25, 2005.

With his wife, Geri, Epcar ran the Israel Connection Judaica store in central Phoenix for 25 years; they closed it in December.

The Jewish Quarter has been operating at Scottsdale Road and Shea Boulevard for nearly 10 years.

"Terry Epcar was a very special person," said Cookie Shifris, who has worked for the Epcars for 21 years and is a friend of the family. "He was always willing to give, well-loved and admired by all who knew him.

"The Jewish community has lost a good friend."

To honor his devotion to Jewish education, contributions in Epcar's memory are suggested to the Bureau of Jewish Education, 12701 N. Scottsdale Road, Suite 206, Scottsdale 85254; Phoenix Hebrew Academy, 515 E. Bethany Home Road, Phoenix 85012; or any synagogue education fund.

The Jewish Quarter is located at 10701 N. Scottsdale Road. Call 480-905-5202.
