Ted Anderson has left Solomon Friedman Entertainment to pursue a partnership with a local creative team, Moss Milauskas Anderson (MMA) Advertising, a new full-service agency in Phoenix.

Sportsman's Fine Wines & Spirits has opened its newest store in Arrowhead Ranch (southeast corner of 67th Ave. and Loop 101). David H. Lissy has been named executive director and chief executive officer of the Masorti Foundation for Conservative Judaism in Israel, headquartered in New York. Lissy previously served as associate director of the White House Domestic Council and special assistant to the president of the United States, with duties that included liaison with the American Jewish community.

Arizona State University's independent student newspaper, The State Press, will receive a Payne Award for Ethics in Journalism for exemplifying the highest standards of college/university media in the face of political or economic pressures. The 2005 winners will be honored in Eugene, Ore., on May 12 at the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication. The State Press will receive the Collegiate Media Award.

Clarendon Hotel + Suites has unveiled its new restaurant and bar, Camus at the Clarendon. Clarendon Hotel recently finished major renovations of the historic hotel located at Clarendon and Fourth Avenue in midtown Phoenix. The new restaurant, Camus at the Clarendon (named after French novelist Albert Camus), is operated by Carson Quinn of Merc Bar fame, along with Chef de Cuisine Matt Donohoe from Wright's at the Arizona Biltmore Resort. The Phoenix International School of Law (PhoenixLaw) has announced the appointment of four members to its board of trustees. The appointments coincide with the announcement of the InfiLaw National Policy Board, which is chaired by Dennis Archer, the immediate past president of the American Bar Association (ABA). The boards will act as governing bodies for the institutions, including advisement on policy, budgets and operating plans. Members of the new Regional Board of Trustees are: George Dean, president and chief executive officer of the Greater Phoenix Urban League; Pat McGroder, a partner in the law firm of Gallagher & Kennedy, P.A.; Laura Palmer Noone, president of the University of Phoenix; and Carolyn Warner, president of Corporate Education Consulting and former Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction.

Northern Trust Bank, N.A., announced the appointment of Thomas J. Gryp as the president and managing director of its Scottsdale operations. Gryp brings 13 years of banking experience to the company. He joined Northern Trust from Merrill Lynch where he served as a business financial adviser. Prior to this, Gryp held the position of president, director and chief operating officer of the Bank of the Southwest, which he co-founded.
