Sandy Stein has been named director of operations for Affordable Home Care Solutions. Stein joins the company with more than 10 years experience in the health care industry. Affordable Home Care Solutions' recent growth requires a full-time director of operations.

The Heard Museum has announced the appointment of Jason G. Meyers as director of marketing communications. Meyers will develop and manage all aspects of the museum's communications program including public relations, media relations, brand development, advertising and targeted campaigns. Meyers is also a 2004 graduate of the Phoenix FBI Citizens' Academy and is a speaker for the Anti-Defamation League.

The Jewish Funders Network elected six new members to their board of directors at the organization's annual meeting and conference in Baltimore. New board members are: Rachel Bendit, mediation services coordinator at the Dispute Resolution Center in Ann Arbor, Mich.; Michael Hill, executive vice president of the Dorot Foundation; Hubert Leven, president of the Sacta-Rashi Foundation, executive vice-president of KIAH and vice-president and treasurer of Alliance Israelite Universelle; Helaine Levy, executive director of the Diamond Foundation and president of Old Tucson Studios; Michael Rukin, consultant to technology entrepreneurs; and Mark Weissman, director of emergency services at Ingalls Hospital.

The Young Leadership Division of the Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix sent nine local young leaders to the United Jewish Communities National Young Leadership Western Leadership Conference in Los Angeles in March. The conference theme, "Lead by Example ... Our Future is Now," underscored the power the next generation of Jewish leaders has, collectively and individually, to lead and inspire others to take initiative in building Jewish communities at home and around the world. More than 300 participants, ages 25 to 45, explored a revolutionary look at leadership while gaining hands-on training and exposure to experts teaching tangible skills in fund-raising, negotiation and Israel advocacy.

Empire Kosher Poultry has announced that its frozen roasting chicken has been chosen as "recommended" and "the overwhelming favorite" among tasters in a blind tasting, published in the March/April 2005, Cooks Illustrated magazine.

American Jewish World Service (AJWS) has selected Riva Silverman as its new director of development. Silverman has a distinguished 20-year career as a fund-raiser, project manager, and policy analyst for progressive Jewish and human rights organizations.

Bryan Kort has joined Western National Bank, a new bank focused on the real estate and small business community in metropolitan Phoenix, as vice president. He has been involved in commercial lending in Phoenix for nearly 15 years. Kort is a member of NAIOP and has been involved with Risk Management Association, Young Leadership Division of the Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix and Phoenix Children's Hospital.

Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity, the oldest and largest historically Jewish fraternity, with more than 50 years of nonsectarian brotherhood, is has announced the appointment of Rabbi Mark S. Bloom as its national chaplain. Bloom's duties as national chaplain will include advising the fraternity's supreme council, staff and members on issues of spirituality, ethics and values.

Kathy Landis, a Realtor with Prudential Arizona Properties' Scottsdale office, has been named Arizona's Outstanding Member of the Women's Council of Realtors (WCR). The award recognizes her contributions to the WCR organization.
