Daron and Ron Barness were recently awarded the Ben Gurion Award for achieving membership in the prestigious State of Israel Bonds Platinum Club. Platinum Club recognition is awarded to individuals who purchase or finance Israel Bonds at the $1 million-dollar level. Lt. Col. Gil Elan, who was the featured speaker at a March 9 reception hosted by the Barnesses, presented the award. The Israel Bonds Note Financing Program is a unique way for individuals to provide significant capital to Israel with a relatively small outlay of cash. For information on note financing, call 480-948-7315.

Jeffrey Frankel, who currently serves as the synagogue administrator and youth/young adults director at Beth El Congregation, was recently granted a one-year contract extension that will last through May 2006. This will be Frankel's fifth year with the congregation. Frankel will relinquish his roles over the youth department and concentrate on serving the congregation as the synagogue administrator. Frankel, who also served as Raw Kaballah executive director during tenure at Beth El, will still be integrally involved in the programming of the synagogue.
