Obituaries

Joseph Axelrod

Joseph Axelrod of Phoenix died Feb. 8, 2005. He was 87. He was born in Montgomery, Ala., and moved to Arizona from California in 1973. He was a retired research chemist.

Survivors include his wife, Estelle; daughters, Judy of Israel and Rebecca of Los Angeles; stepson, Bill Engel of Denver; and two grandchildren.

Arrangements were made by Sinai Mortuary.



Brian Nadell

Brian Nadell of Chandler died Feb. 9, 2005. He was 60. He was born in Ontario, Canada, and moved to Arizona in 1950. He was a retired physician.

Survivors include his wife, Indira; and daughters, Amy of Philadelphia and Mia of Phoenix.

Services were held at Sinai Mortuary Chapel, with Rabbi Irwin Wiener officiating. Arrangements were made by Sinai Mortuary.

Martin Lichtblau

Martin Lichtblau, age 73 of Scottsdale, AZ formerly of Westbury, NY passed away suddenly on February 5, 2005, beloved husband of Lois, father of Steven (Mindy), Linda (Michael) & Randy (David), grandfather of Lisa, Alex, Drew & Craig. Wonderful person to everyone who knew him, avid golfer and great friend. He will be sorely missed by family, friends and all who knew him. We love you and miss you and will think of you always.



Henrietta G. Fine

Henrietta G. Fine, 97, formerly of Sun City West, died February 9,2005. She grew up in Janesville, Wi and prior to moving to Sun City in 1968, lived and engaged in business in Mineral Point, Wi. She and her husband, David, had been married for 68 years until his death in 1996. She had been one of the founders and a lifetime member of Temple Beth Shalom in Sun City. Active in Eastern Star, ORT, and Hadassah, she had enjoyed a full life.

She is survived by her three children, Charles Fine and his wife, Penny, of Phoenix, Paul Fine and wife, Murium, living in Brown Deer, Wi, and Zelma Schloss and her husband Fred Schloss, living in Menominee Falls, Wi., and 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Arrangements were entrusted to Sinai Mortuary. Services were held in Milwaukee, WI. In Henrietta's memory donations may be made to the Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014.



Larry Levin

Larry Levin, age 72, passed away February 13, 2005 at home in Phoenix. He was born in Chicago, IL and had been a resident of Phoenix for the past 50 years. Larry was a retired businessman, past President of Beth El Congregation, served with the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict, and a member of the Jewish War Veterans.

Survivors include his wife Geri Levin; son Michael (Kathy) Levin; daughters Sheila (Ron) Davies and Judith Levin; sister Mickey (Gene) Weinert; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 15th at Beth El Congregation. Contributions in his memory are requested to Barish Scholarship Fund, c/o Beth El Congregation, 1118 W. Glendale Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85021. Arrangements by Sinai Mortuary.
