Obituaries

Rose Sperling

Rose Sperling of Chandler died Dec. 22, 2004. She was 94. She was born in New York and moved to Arizona from Connecticut in 1993. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her son, Michael of Chandler; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services were held in New York. Arrangements were made by Sinai Mortuary.

Heda Glick

Heda Glick of Oak Park, Mich., died Feb. 1, 2005. She was 81.

Survivors include her son, Bernard of Scottsdale; daughter Kathy Kapara of Oak Park, Mich.; and five grandchildren.

Services were held in Oak Park, Mich. Arrangements were made by Kaufman Funeral Home.



Lillian Wolfson-Huber

Lillian Wolfson-Huber of Phoenix died Feb. 6, 2005. She was 90. She was born in New York and moved to Arizona from Florida eight years ago. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her sons, Paul of Scottsdale and Joel of Fort Myers, Fla.; sister, Francis Shapiro of Los Angeles; brother, Henry Ross of Bradenton, Fla.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services were held in Massachusetts. Arrangements were made by Sinai Mortuary.

Bernard Miles

Bernard Miles, age 87, of Peoria, passed away on February 8, 2005. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy and retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1979. Born in Des Moines, Iowa, Bernard moved to Arizona with his loving wife and children in 1962.

Survivors include son Lewis (Vicki) Miles, daughters Elaine Miller, Sharon (Tom) Mihalik, 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Hilda in 1994.

Graveside funeral services were held Thursday, February 10th in Phoenix. Contributions are suggested to Sun Health Hospice, 12740 N Plaza Del Rio Blvd., Peoria, AZ 85381. Arrangements by Sinai Mortuary.



Leo Smilovic

Leo Smilovic, age 90, passed away January 31, 2005. He was a WWII veteran of the Czechoslovakian Army who immigrated to the United States and became an Arizona resident 38 years ago.

Survivors include his wife, Ruzena Smilovic, son Frank (Amy) Smilovic of Greenwich, CT, sisters Rita (Emil) Weiss of Margate, NJ, Shari Mermelstern and Florcha Meizlik, both of Israel, brother Sam (Channa) Smilovic of Toronto, Canada, and grandchildren Gabriel Paul Smilovic and Charles Jan Smilovic.

Graveside funeral services were held Wednesday, February 2nd in Phoenix. Arrangements by Sinai Mortuary.
