Ellen Florrie Craig, daughter of JoAnne and Michael Craig of Scottsdale, will become a bat mitzvah Jan. 29, 2005, at Temple Solel.

Grandparents are Elaine Weiser Mendelsohn of Novi, Mich.; Myrna and David Messenger of Sterling Heights, Mich., and Scottsdale; Leslie and Robert Craig of West Bloomfield, Mich.; and the late Robert Mendelsohn.

Ellen attends New School of the Arts and Academics Middle School. Her hobbies include theater, horseback riding and reading.

For her mitzvah project, Ellen worked with the Arizona Animal Welfare League. She also volunteered as a clown entertaining Jewish young adults with special needs and at events for the Fountain Hills Kiwanis Club.



Rickey Lynn Gans, daughter of the late Fay Gans and spouse of Lori Jean, will become a bat mitzvah Jan. 28, 2005, at Temple Emanuel of Tempe.

Children are David Jeremy of Mesa; Jennifer Lynn of Mesa; and June Rebecca of Tempe.

Rickey is a graduate of Arizona State University. Her hobbies include cooking, sewing and computers.

For her mitzvah project, Rickey volunteered at local hospitals and supported the Sojourner Center.



Rachel Alyssa Clare, daughter of Jodi and Michael Clare of Scottsdale, will become a bat mitzvah Jan. 29, 2005, at Temple Beth Israel.

Grandparents are Shirlee Katz of Bradenton, Fla.; Sidney and Florence Clare of Scottsdale; and the late Herb Katz.

Rachel attends Desert Canyon Middle School. Her hobbies include dance, cheerleading, piano and horseback riding.
