B'nai Mitzvah

Joseph Sol Adelman, son of Cherie and Danny Adelman of Scottsdale, will become a bar mitzvah Jan. 22, 2005, at Temple Kol Ami.

Grandparents are Ellie and Don Cohen of Scottsdale; and Hannah and Phil Adelman of Phoenix.

Great-grandparents are Esther Cohen of Phoenix; the late Joseph Cohen; and the late Esther and Sol Bloomfield.

Joey attends Cocopah Middle School. His hobbies include baseball, basketball and drums.

For his mitzvah project, Joey will collect sports equipment for disadvantaged children.



Ryan Cohen, son of Pamela and Woody Cohen of Gilbert, will become a bar mitzvah Jan. 22, 2005, at Temple Emanuel of Tempe.

Grandparents are Edith Cohen of Gilbert and Thomas Bergin of Phoenix.

Ryan attends Coronado Elementary School. His hobbies include motorcycles, horses, playing drums and playing guitar.

For his mitzvah project, Ryan helped elderly people with their yard work and walked their dogs at his grandmother's retirement community.



Alexander Secunda, son of Sandra and Arthur Secunda of Scottsdale, will become a bar mitzvah Jan. 22, 2005, at Temple Solel.

Grandparents are Catherine and Leo Secunda of Jersey City, N.J.; and the late Mildred and Edward Wolske.

Alexander attends Basis Scottsdale School. His hobbies include piano, music, chess, puzzles and games.

For his mitzvah project, Alexander performed a classical piano program for the residents at the Grand Court Retirement Home.



David Daniel Kohn, son of Beth and Wesley Kohn of Peoria, will become a bar mitzvah Jan. 22, 2005, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Arlene and Byron Kohn of Northridge, Calif.; and Susan and Kenneth Hochman of Palm Desert, Calif.

Great-grandparents are Lorraine Blumbaum of Palm Desert, Calif.; the late Gilbert Blumbaum; the late Dorothy and Abe Kohn; the late Rae and David Hochman; and the late Rose and Zoltan Kalman.

David attends Frontier Elementary School. His hobbies include soccer and football.

For his mitzvah project, David collected toys and delivered them to the children's hospital.



Daryn Ashley Wittels, daughter of Lisa and Barry Wittels of Phoenix, will become a bat mitzvah Jan. 22, 2005, at Temple Beth Israel.

Grandparents are Penny Baxter of Phoenix; the late David Baxter; and the late Evelyn and Abott Wittels.

Daryn attends Shea Middle School. Her hobbies include basketball, volleyball and karate.

For her mitzvah project, Daryn prepared meals for Temple Beth Israel's shut-ins on Thanksgiving, and collected and cleaned cell phones to be used by the elderly and others who could not afford them. The projects were part of Temple Beth Israel's Youth Social Action committee project.
