Brett Andrew Harris, son of Lisa and Michael Harris of Scottsdale, will become a bar mitzvah Jan. 8, 2005, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Bess and Samuel Harris of Scottsdale; Gloria Edwards of Scottsdale; and the late Robert Edwards.

Brett attends Copper Ridge Middle School. His hobbies include music, basketball and baseball.

For his mitzvah project, Brett visited nursing homes with his pets.



Alexander Jacob Sylvester, son of Lisa and Ken Sylvester of Cave Creek, will become a bar mitzvah Jan. 8, 2004, at Temple Beth Israel.

Grandparents are Selma and Stanley Friedman and Shirley and Harry Sylvester, all of Phoenix.

Great-grandparents are the late Jessie and Alick Friedman and the late Esther and Isadore Goldstock.

Alexander attends Desert Arroyo Middle School. His hobbies include tennis and making movies.



Jenna Nicole Zweig, daughter of Susan and Barry Zweig of Scottsdale, will become a bat mitzvah Jan. 8, 2005, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Joyce King of Scottsdale; Eloise and Herbert Zweig of Del Ray Beach, Fla.; and the late Larry King.

Jenna attends Mountain Trails Middle School. Her hobbies include playing guitar, softball and music.

For her mitzvah project, Jenna collected donations for the Thomas J. Pappas School.



Brittany Taylor Robinson, daughter of Lisa and Tracey Robinson of Scottsdale, will become a bat mitzvah Jan. 8, 2005, at Temple Solel.

Brittany attends Copper Ridge Middle School. Her hobbies include soccer, swimming, tennis, snow skiing and reading.

For her mitzvah project, Brittany volunteered and donated money to an animal shelter. She also helped prepare food for St. Vincent de Paul.



Jacob Aaron Goldberg, son of Roz and Seth Goldberg of Scottsdale, will become a bar mitzvah Jan. 8, 2005, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Charlotte and Alex Adelman of Phoenix; and Elaine and Morris Goldberg of Phoenix.

Great-grandparents are Sarah Shaw of Phoenix and the late Murray Shaw.

Jacob attends Sunrise Middle School. His hobbies include playing bass guitar, tennis and paintball.

For his mitzvah projects, Jacob volunteered at Kivel Campus of Care and donated food to an area food bank.



Jason Alexander Callahan, son of April Callahan of Mesa and Jerome Callahan Jr. of Chandler, will become a bar mitzvah Jan. 8, 2005, at Temple Emanuel of Tempe.

Grandparents are Mildred and Irving Chester of Margate, Fla.; and Sue and Jerome Callahan of Cumming, Ga.

Jason attends Rhodes Junior High School. His hobbies include baseball and reading.

For his mitzvah project, Jason collected and donated children's collectible cards to Phoenix Children's Hospital, where they were used by the Child Life Department as prizes and rewards for children undergoing difficult medical procedures or for accomplishing new tasks.
