Zachary Noah Barness, son of Daron and Ron Barness of Paradise Valley, will become a bar mitzvah Dec. 11, 2004, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Shana and Louis Yuster of Encino, Calif.; the late Sharon Tuchin; and the late Gideon Barness.

Great-grandparents are Mollie Pearl of Los Angeles; Emanuel Tuchin of Escondido, Calif.; the late George Pearl; and the late Leah Tuchin.

Zachary attends Mountainside Middle School. His hobbies include baseball, video games and collecting sports cards.

For his mitzvah project, Zachary held a bat-a-thon, where he raised $5,000 for Diamondbacks Charities.



Daniel Mordukhay Gold, son of Laura and Gary Gold of Scottsdale, will become a bar mitzvah Dec. 14, 2004, at the Bucharian Jewish Community.

Grandparents are Dora Fuzalylova of Forest Hills, N.Y.; Esther and Michael Borukhov of Atlanta; and the late Yury Mordukhayev.

Daniel attends Desert Canyon Middle School. His hobbies are playing the saxophone, swimming and soccer.

Alexandra Gwynne Kauffman, daughter of Catherine and Gary Kauffman of Paradise Valley, will become a bat mitzvah Dec. 11, 2004, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Sylvia Kauffman of Scottsdale; Marcelite and Frank Troeger of Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.; and the late Aaron Kauffman.

Alexandra attends Cocopah Middle School. Her hobbies include National Charity League and Desert Storm Elite.

For her mitzvah project, Alexandra helped sort food at St. Mary's Food Bank. She also worked with senior citizens at Phoenix Mountain Nursing Home.



Kathryn Allison Demaine, daughter of Linda Ribnik and David Demaine of Phoenix, will become a bat mitzvah Dec. 11, 2004, at Temple Solel.

Grandparents are Margaret Demaine of Scottsdale; and the late Thelma Ribnik.

Kathryn attends Ingleside Middle School. Her hobbies include sports, Girl Scouts, National Junior Honor Society and student council.

For her mitzvah project, Kathryn cared for a 5-year-old boy from Rwanda who came to the United States for heart surgery. She also made toys and games for Phoenix Children's Hospital.



Daniel Adam Nemet, son of Dina and Barry Nemet of Scottsdale, will become a bar mitzvah Dec. 11, 2004, at Temple Emanuel of Tempe.

Grandparents are Florence Lakin of Scottsdale; Ruth and Richard Nemet of Boynton Beach, Fla.; and the late Mort Lakin.

Great-grandparents are Lillian Nemet of Boynton Beach, Fla.; the late Sally and Sidney Grundland; the late Hugo Adler; and the late George Nemet.

Daniel attends Supai Middle School. His hobbies include tae kwon do, music, sports and movies.

For his mitzvah project, Daniel collected clothes and toys for the needy. He also participated in a "Buddy Reading" program.



Margo Rose Casselman, daughter of Michelle and Robert Casselman of Phoenix, became a bat mitzvah Dec. 4, 2004, at Har Zion Congregation.

Grandparents are Lois Ann Weksler of Paradise Valley; Charles Hathcox of Atlanta; and the late Nate Casselman.

Margo attends Phoenix Country Day School. Her hobbies include arts and crafts, horseback riding, swimming, rollerblading and drama.



Elizabeth Ruderman, daughter of Diane and Paul Ruderman of Phoenix, will become a bat mitzvah Dec. 11, 2004, at Har Zion Congregation.

Grandparents are Betty Miller of Phoenix; Elaine Ruderman of San Diego, Calif.; the late Morris Miller; and the late Sidney Ruderman.

Elizabeth attends Cocopah Middle School. Her hobbies include softball, travelling, social studies and student council.



Gina Marisa Weisman, daughter of Elisa Weisman of Scottsdale and Alan Weisman of Cave Creek, will become a bat mitzvah Dec. 11, 2004, at Temple Kol Ami.

Grandparents are Joan Schack of Scottsdale; Paula and Joseph Kleinman of Roanoke, Va.; and the late George Schack.

Gina attends Copper Ridge Middle School.

For her mitzvah project, Gina collected donations for local food banks.
