Lauren Charlotte Fann, daughter of Heather and Lawrence Fann of Scottsdale, will become a bat mitzvah Oct. 30, 2004, at Temple Beth Israel.

Grandparents are Beverly and Floyd Fann of Scottsdale; and Hinda and Henry Newman of Anthem.

Great-grandparent is Berta Cohen of Phoenix.

Lauren attends Mountainside Middle School. Her hobbies include volleyball, surfing, basketball and art.

For her mitzvah project, Lauren collected stuffed animals for the Emily Anderson Center at Phoenix Children's Hospital.



Max Kneler Okun, son of Susie and Jamie Okun of Scottsdale, will become a bar mitzvah Oct. 30, 2004, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Rita and Meyer Okun of Scottsdale; and Faye and Gary Kneler of Lakewood, N.J.

Max attends Desert Canyon Middle School. His hobbies include basketball, football and collecting taxis.

For his mitzvah project, Max collected children's books for the Scottsdale Healthcare Reach Out and Read program and the Sunnyslope Elementary School Book Drive.



Marissa Galin, daughter of Kathie and Jeffrey Galin of Scottsdale, will become a bat mitzvah Oct. 30, 2004, at Temple Solel.

Grandparents are Adele and Seymour Miller of Desert Hills; and Paulette and Robert Galgano of King City, Mo.

Marissa attends Pardes Jewish Day School. Her hobbies include karate, playing guitar and art.

For her mitzvah project, Marissa raised money for school supplies for Westwood Elementary School.



Kole Harrison Hirsch, son of Aimee B. and Mitchel Hirsch of Paradise Valley, will become a bar mitzvah Oct. 30, 2004, at Temple Beth Israel.

Grandparents are Maxine and Marvin Long of Scottsdale; and Evie and Chuck Hirsch of Las Vegas.

Kole attends Mountainside Middle School. His hobby is Web site design.



David Fiszbein, son of Lisa and Michael Fiszbein of Gilbert, will become a bar mitzvah Oct. 30, 2004, at Temple Emanuel of Tempe.

Grandparents are Lorraine Benedict of Chandler; and Charlotte and Arthur Fiszbein of Farmington Hills, Mich.

David attends Mesquite Junior High. His hobbies include baseball, motorcross and water skiing.

For his mitzvah project, David made a donation to the Audubon Society.



Bradley Russell Shane, son of Janice Shane of Scottsdale and the late Laurence Shane, will become a bar mitzvah Oct. 30, 2004, at Chabad of Scottsdale.

Grandparents are Hazel Sheinuk of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Basil Shane of Cape Town, South Africa; and the late Olna and Russell Klass.

Bradley attends Cocopah Middle School. His hobbies include soccer and chess.
