Amanda Pogany & Aaron Bisman

Amanda Pogany of Scotch Plains, N.J., and Aaron Yaakov Bisman of Scottsdale announce their engagement.

Parents of the couple are Ruth and Peter Pogany of Scotch Plains, N.J.; and Fredda and Rabbi Mark Bisman of Scottsdale.

The bride-to-be received her bachelor's degree from Barnard College. She received a master's degree in Jewish education from the Hebrew University in Israel and a Certificate of Advanced Jewish Studies from The Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies. She teaches seventh and eighth grades Talmud and Bible at the Solomon Schechter Day School of Bergen County.

The groom-to-be received his bachelor's degree in music business from New York University. He is co-founder and executive director of JDub Records.

A May wedding is planned.
