Jordan Siegel, son of Linda and David Siegel of Gilbert, will become a bar mitzvah Oct. 2, 2004, at Temple Emanuel of Tempe.

Grandparents are Marilyn and Henry Siegel of Prescott.

Jordan attends Highland Junior High School. His hobbies include karate, nature, surfing, collecting seashells and foreign coins, and scootering.

For his mitzvah project, Jordan participated in a tzedakah collective and gave 3 percent of the money he received to a Jewish organization.



Katherine Danielle Macdonough, daughter of Dana and Bruce Macdonough of Paradise Valley, will become a bat mitzvah Oct. 2, 2004, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Vi Ganeles of Dallas; Georgia Macdonough of Phoenix; the late Stanley Ganeles; and the late Edward Macdonough.

Katherine attends Cocopah Middle School. Her hobby is volleyball.

For her mitzvah project, Katherine worked at the registration booth for Race for the Cure. She also helped organize and serve a dinner at the walk-in shelter for the homeless; wrapped socks for the Shoebox Ministries; and served at a dinner for a fund-raiser at Church of the Beatitudes.



Joshua Philip Minnick, son of Cheryl Benson of Scottsdale and Kelly Minnick of Scottsdale, will become a bar mitzvah on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004, at Temple Beth Israel.

Grandparents are Joyce and Leonard Dimond of Scottsdale; Robert Minnick of Indiana; and the late Frances Minnick.

Great-grandparents are Mae Silverbrand of Chicago; and the late Harry Silverbrand.

Joshua attends Mountainside Middle School. His hobbies include basketball, track, science, physical education and math. He wants to go to Duke University for college.



Lauren Beth Silber, daughter of Betsy and Gary Silber of Scottsdale, will become a bat mitzvah Oct. 2, 2004, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Geraldine and Walter Seid of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; Doris Silber of Lake Worth, Fla; and the late Bernard Silber.

Lauren attends The King David School. Her hobbies include dance, soccer and art.

For her mitzvah project, Lauren volunteered at an animal shelter. She also donated decorations for the synagogue's sukkah.



Jared Alexander Levidow, son of Lloyd Levidow of Scottsdale, will become a bar mitzvah Oct. 2, 2004, at Temple Kol Ami.

Grandparents are Sheila and Eugene Levidow of Lake Worth, Fla.; Annelies Karp of Long Island, N.Y.; and the late Charles Karp.

Jared attends Mountain Trail Middle School. His hobbies include soccer, guitar and reading.

For his mitzvah project, Jared raised money to buy clothing, toiletries and school supplies for the Thomas J. Pappas School.



Eden Amiel, son of Ahuva and Simon Amiel of Scottsdale, will become a bar mitzvah Oct. 2, 2004, at Shirat David.

Grandparents are Prosper Amiel of Israel; Leah and Eliyahu Peretz of Israel; and the late Raymond Amiel.

Eden attends Desert Shadows Middle School. His hobbies include computers, music and basketball.

For his mitzvah project, Eden worked with children who needed to practice Hebrew.



Rachel Victoria Freed, daughter of Julie and Lewis Freed of Scottsdale, will become a bat mitzvah Oct. 2, 2004, at Temple Solel.

Grandparents are Fiona and Stan Bazilian of Scottsdale and Philadelphia; Bobby Freed of Scottsdale; and John Bresland of Washington, D.C.

Rachel attends Pardes Jewish Day School. Her hobbies include dance, computers, music and movies.

For her mitzvah project, Rachel collected items for the Arizona Animal Welfare League and fed the homeless in San Francisco.
