Sarah Fihrer and Jeffrey Waschler of Glendale announce their engagement.

Parents of the couple are Linda and Robert Fihrer of Scottsdale; Elaine Jacobs of Phoenix; and Merl Waschler of Scottsdale.

The bride-to-be received her bachelor's degree in international affairs from George Washington University. She is a trade show manager for Virgo Publishing.

The groom-to-be received his bachelor's degree in business information systems from DeVry University. He is an admissions adviser for DeVry University.

A Jan. 15, 2005, wedding is planned at Marriot McDowell Mountain Resort in Scottsdale.
