Obituaries

Sam Kaufman

Sam Kaufman of Mequon, Wis., died June 3, 2004. He was 85. He was born in Milwaukee, Wis. He was a retired grocer. He served in the U.S. Marines in WWII.

Survivors include his significant other, Bobbie Shafton of Fox Point, Wis.; son Jeffrey of Scottsdale; daughter Marcy of Scottsdale; brothers Dave of Glendale, Wis., and Bernie of Mequon, Wis.; sister Lillian Teplinsky of Glendale, Wis.; and two grandchildren.

Services were held in Milwaukee. Arrangements were made by Sinai Mortuary.

Luella Dombrot

Luella Dombrot of Scottsdale died July 19, 2004. She was 86. She was born in Bronx, N.Y., and moved to Arizona in 1974. She was a retired state social worker.

Survivors include her sister, Roaha Browne; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be held 11 a.m. today (Friday, July 23) at Paradise Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were made by Sinai Mortuary.

Jack Sugar

Jack Sugar of Phoenix died July 20, 2004. He was 79. He was born in Toronto and moved to Arizona in 1952. He was a jeweler. He was in the Canadian Army. He was a past member of the Lions Club and a past board member of the Boys and Girls Club.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon; daughters, Susan Sugar-James of Phoenix; and Karen Sugar-Carlsgaard of Denver; sisters, Etta Lofsky of Toronto and Rose Diamond of Miami; and two grandchildren.

Services will be held 9:30 a.m. today (Friday, July 23) at Beth El Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Sinai Mortuary.
