Obituaries

Audrey Michelson

Audrey Michelson of Scottsdale died June 30, 2004. She was 76. She was born in St. Louis and moved to Arizona in 1997. She was active in Democratic Party politics.

Survivors include her husband, Jerome; daughter, Lynne of St. Louis; sons, Jerry and Jon, both of St. Louis, and Robert of Glencoe, Ill.; sisters, June Berman of New York and Dorothy Schlang of Paradise Valley; and 11 grandchildren.

Arrangements were made by Sinai Mortuary. Contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix 85014.



Joyce Tessler

Joyce Tessler of Anacortes, Wash., formerly of Scottsdale, died July 2, 2004. She was 80. She was born in Bronx, N.Y., and moved to Arizona in 1958. She was a librarian.

Survivors include her daughter, Meryl Salter of Newton, Mass; sons, Warren of Anacortes, Wash., and Jason of Har Chalutz, Israel; brother, Fred Lobel of New York; and five grandchildren.

Ed Brenner

Ed Brenner of Phoenix died July 4, 2004. He was 78. He was born in Chicago and moved to Arizona in 1971. He was a retired editor.

Survivors include his wife, Dolores; daughters, Susan Snyder of Litchfield Park and Diane Fankhauser of Phoenix; son, Douglas of New Hampshire; and four grandchildren.

Services were held at Sinai Mortuary Chapel, with Rabbi Irwin Wiener officiating. Arrangements were made by Sinai Mortuary.

Alan Joel Molin

Alan Joel Molin of Tempe died July 4, 2004. He was 56. He was born in San Antonio, Texas, and moved to Arizona from Tennessee in 1995. He was a maintenance engineer. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Vietnam and Persian Gulf wars. He was an active volunteer at the Hillel Jewish Student Center at Arizona State University.

Survivors include his daughters, Shandra Molin Smith of Appleton, Wis., Cori Reichwaldt of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. and Robbyn Molin of Appleton, Wis.; father, H. Victor Molin of Phoenix; sister, Roberta Kramer of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; and three grandchildren.

Services were held at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, with Rabbi Barton Lee officiating. Arrangements were made by Sinai Mortuary.

Reuben Horowitz

Reuben Horowitz, age 93, of Phoenix passed away July 3, 2004. He was born in New York City, N.Y. and came to the Valley 27 years ago. Mr. Horowitz was a chemical engineer and was an active member of Temple Beth Israel. He was a docent and registrar for the Sylvia Plotkin Judaica Museum.

He is survived by his wife Hilda, daughter Janet (Gerald) Perlman of Phoenix, son Michael (Dalya) Horowitz of Skokie, Ill., brother Leon Horowitz of Sunrise Lakes, Fla., four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 6th in Phoenix. Contributions in his memory may be directed to the Sylvia Plotkin Judaica Museum, c/o Temple Beth Israel, 10460 N. 56th St., Scottsale, AZ 85253. Arrangements by Sinai Mortuary.



Lawrence Glazman

Lawrence Glazman, age 62, will be missed by his loving friends and family, including his wife Ellen, daughters Marin and Kami, and four grandchildren, after ending a life-long battle with asthma July 5, 2004. Larry owned and operated several retail stores in Glendale including the Boot Barn from 1976 to 1995. Larry actively contributed to his community for 40 years through Jaycees, planning and business development committees, and Rotary. Larry taught us perseverance and made up for his weak lungs with a strong spirit. A memorial service was held Thursday, July 8th at Temple Chai in Phoenix. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Lung Association of Arizona, 102 W. McDowell Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85003.
