Melissa Beth Brennan, daughter of Andrea and Joseph Brennan of Scottsdale, will become a bat mitzvah July 10, 2004.

Grandparents are Nettie and Edward Werbel of Long Beach, N.Y.; Kiki Brennan of Mesa; and the late Richard Brennan.

Melissa attends Mountainside Middle School. Her hobbies are soccer, crocheting and cello.

For her mitzvah project, Melissa spent time with her grandfather, who has Alzheimer's disease.
