Sharotka Maria Godzina and Michael Alexander Simon of Cambridge, Mass., announce their engagement.

Parents of the couple are Mari and Zygmunt Godzina of Anchorage, Ak.; and Helaine and Howard Simon of Phoenix.

The bride-to-be earned her bachelor's degree in biochemistry from Rice University. She is currently earning her doctorate degree in biology at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

The groom-to-be earned his bachelor's degree in electrical and computer engineering at Rice University. He is currently earning his doctorate degree in biology at Tufts University.

A July 4, 2004, wedding is planned in Scottsdale.



Kathryn Wellin & Michael Thier

Kathryn Wellin of Mooresville, N.C., and Michael Thier of Lindenhurst, N.Y., announce their engagement.

Parents of the couple are Julia Wellin of New York; David Wellin of Danbury, Conn.; and Stephanie and Frank Thier of Scottsdale.

The bride-to-be earned her bachelor's degree at Brown University and her master's degree at Columbia University. She is a reporter for The Charlotte Observer.

The groom-to-be earned his bachelor's degree at New York University. He is currently earning his master's degree at State University of New York-Stony Brook and is an editor at Newsday.

A July 2005 wedding is planned in Garrison, N.Y.



Naomi Sanders & Richard Prantis

Naomi Sanders and Richard Prantis of Los Angeles announce their engagement.

Parents of the couple are Dorie Sanders of Phoenix; Marc Sanders of Atlanta; Carmen Prantis of Norfolk, Mass.; and the late Richard Prantis.

The bride-to-be earned her bachelor's degree in fine art at Otis/Parson School of Design. She is currently earning her master's degree in landscape architecture at University of Southern California.

The groom-to-be earned his bachelor's degree in architecture at Syracuse University. He is an associate architect at Perkins & Will.

A June 2005 wedding is planned at the Historic Union Train Station in Los Angeles.



Aaron May & Laurel Zunchich

Laurel Zunchich and Aaron May of New York announce their engagement.

Parents of the couple are Andy and Brad May of Scottsdale; Jan and Michael Zunchich of Scottsdale; and the late Carol Zunchich.

The bride-to-be received her bachelor's degree in fine arts from the University of Arizona. She works at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York.

The groom-to-be received his associate's degree at Scotts-dale Community College, and his graduate degree at the Ritz Escoffier School in Paris. He works as a chef at Casa Mono in New York.

A November 2004 wedding is planned in Scottsdale.
