People on the move

Sarah Delaney has joined the staff of Jewish News as an editorial intern. She grad-uated from Xavier College Preparatory in May and will attend the Georgetown School of Foreign Service in the fall.

Michael Miklofsky has joined the staff of Jewish News as staff writer. He graduated from Arizona State University in May with a bachelor's degree in journalism. He served as city editor to ASU's student newspaper, The State Press.

Natalie Goldberg will become the director of The Solel Preschool on June 28. She had been involved in preschool education for the past 13 years in Southern California.

The Arizona chapter of the American Jewish Committee has installed its new officers and board of directors: Florence and Paul Eckstein, Maxine and Jonathan Marshall, and Rachel and Arnold Smith, honorary board of trustees; Ken C. Benjamin Goot graduated on May 15 Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in general biology from the University of Arizona. He will be attending the Milton S. Hershey College of Medicine at Pennsylvania State University in Hershey, Penn. in August. His parents, David and Ellen Goot, are Phoenix residents.

The Jewish Free Loan of Greater Phoenix has announced their 2004-2005 board: Rabbi Irwin Weiner, president; Marvin Weinstein, executive vice president; Marvin Stein, treasurer; and William J. Saulson, secretary.

Paul Frishman has joined the Valley of the Sun Jewish Community Center as associate executive director. For the past 18 years, he served in several capacities on the staff of the Dave and Mary Alper JCC in Miami and will soon settle in Scottsdale with his wife and their three children.

Syndi Scheck, Temple Emanuel's preschool director, was one of two preschool directors nationally honored with the seventh annual Mariel C. Furlong Award for Making a Difference. She has been recognized for creating an environment safe for children with severe food allergies.

Architect Will Bruder received a 2004 Governor's Arts Award for his 39-year career in Arizona and across the United States, during which he worked on nearly 500 commissioned projects for residential, commercial and public buildings.
