On May 1, at the Oakwood Country Club in Sun Lakes, Temple Havurat Emet celebrated its third anniversary and installed new officers: Mel Moss, president; Sherine Frazin, administrative vice president; Clyde Schachner, fund-raising vice president; Sidnee Shalita, membership vice president; Ron Kollman, treasurer; Beverly Worthing, secretary; and three directors, Richard Askenazi, Morton Huskey and Joyce Tubben.

Sun Lakes Jewish Congregation installed a new board on May 3: Shirley Shalett and Joyce Spartonos, co-presidents; Doris Codkind, Gail Dante, Sandy Jennings and Judy Wolin, vice presidents of programming; Marilyn Behr, Fran Appelbaum and Barbara Kaplan, vice presidents of membership; Ilana Goldschmidt, treasurer; Helen Brenaman, recording secretary; Marcia Weiner, corresponding secretary and Lila Shaw, publicity.

Elise Gabrielle Salomon, daughter of Sharon and Felix Saloman of Phoenix, graduated from Pitzer College in Claremont, Calif., on May 16 with a bachelor's degree in media studies. She has accepted a position at New Line Cinema.

Glenn Bacal has joined the Phoenix-based law firm Jennings, Strouss & Salmon, P.L.C., as a partner and co-chairman of the intellectual property practice group. His 23-year career has focused on trademark, copyright, Internet, computer, trade secret and e-commerce law, as well as intellectual property litigation.

Har Zion Congregation Sisterhood has installed its 2004-2005 officers: Linda Bernstein and Lynn Sykes, co-presidents; Donna Troisi, financial secretary; Shiela Charlip, treasurer; Kathy Kahn, corresponding secretary; Harriet Achtman and Marjorie Rothstein, co-vice presidents of membership; Janice Teisch, vice president of education; Fran Wolfson, vice president of ways and means; Judy Zola, vice president of programming; Gerry Hyman, recording secretary; and Patsy Weber, vice president of Torah fund.
