Zachary Edan Jost, son of Alisa and Charles Jost of Paradise Valley, will become a bar mitzvah May 22, 2004, at Temple Solel.

Grandparents are Elaine and Marvin Givertz of Toronto; Rita Jost of Geneva, Switzerland; and the late James Jost.

Great-grandparents are the late Belle and Samuel Miles; and the late Anne and Louis Givertz.

Zachary attends Pardes Jewish Day School. His hobbies are soccer, chess, snowboarding and scuba diving.

For his mitzvah project, Zachary completed a 13 Mitzvot project that included a combination of Torah, avodah (religious observance) and gemilut chasadim (community service/tzedakah).



Marc Daniel Wohlleban, son of Robin and Dan Wohlleban of Phoenix, will become a bar mitzvah May 22, 2004, at Temple Emanuel.

Grandparents are the late Dinny and Morton Honeyman; and the late Feye and William Wohlleban.

Marc attends Centennial Middle School. His hobbies are football and culinary arts.

For his mitzvah project, Marc collected sports equipment for the needy.



Charlotte Irmgard Mallis, daughter of Inge and Gary Mallis of Scottsdale, will become a bat mitzvah May 22, 2004, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Dorleen Mallis of Tucson; Albert Mallis of Tucson; Irmgard Staiger of Nierstein, Germany; and the late Karl Staiger.

Great-grandparents are the late Pauline and Herman Ray; and the late Irmgard and Peter Klink.

Charlotte attends Rancho Solano Private School. Her hobbies are volleyball, softball, guitar, piano and running track.

For her mitzvah project, Charlotte volunteered babysitting services for a needy family and spent time reading with a special-needs child.



Chanel Olivia Leibsohn, daughter of Hope and Steven Leibsohn of Scottsdale, will become a bat mitzvah May 22, 2004, at Temple Beth Israel.

Grandparents are Betty and Mark Leibsohn of Phoenix; and Alice and Irv Veit of Lincolnwood, Ill.

Great-grandparents are the late Anna and Orrie Becker; the late Rebecca and Meyer Leibsohn; the late Margaret and Louis Levy; and the late Jennie and Lawrence Veit.

Chanel attends The King David School. Her hobbies are basketball, rock climbing and computers.

For her mitzvah project, Chanel collected clothes and toys and donated them to an underprivileged school.



Brandon Taylor Stein, son of Jodi and Dean Stein of Paradise Valley, will become a bar mitzvah May 22, 2004, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Ellen and Marshall Stein and Phyllis Citron, all of Chicago; and the late Bernard Citron.

Great-grandparents are Morris Glickstein of Bal Harbour, Fla.; the late Ethel Glickstein; and the late Lena and Max Stein.

Brandon attends Cocopah Middle School. His hobbies are baseball, hockey and going to the movies.

For his mitzvah project, Brandon collected toys for Phoenix Children's Hospital.


Jerry H. Gamze of Mesa, husband of Judith Gamze, will become a bar mitzvah May 22, 2004, at Chabad Center for Jewish Life.

His daughters are Michele Berk of Gilbert and Alisa Lemke of Chicago.

His grandchildren are Brian, Joseph and Sara Berk.

Jerry's hobbies are sports, music, cooking, photography and spending time with his wife and grandchildren.

This is Gamze's first bar mitzvah. He is 70 years old.



Douglas Aaron Schamberg, son of Heidi Lochridge of Scottsdale and Michael Schamberg of Scottsdale, will become a bar mitzvah May 22, 2004, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Rita and Jerome Schamberg of Delray Beach, Fla.; and Ronnie and Jesse Chamberlain of Tipp City, Ohio.

Douglas attends Cocopah Middle School. His hobby is basketball.

For his mitzvah project, Douglas visited with Kivel Campus of Care residents.
