ObituariesCharles Stuart BraunsteinCharles Stuart Braunstein of Scottsdale died March 24, 2004. He was 74. He was born in New York and moved to Arizona from New York in 1995. He was a retired architect. He was a member of Temple Solel.Survivors include his wife, Ruth; and sisters, Phylis Margolin of Philadelphia, and Edith Maganizer of Houston. She was born in Chicago and moved to Arizona from New York in 1985. She was a retired elementary school teacher. She was a member of Hadassah.Survivors include her husband, Irving; daughters, Debbie Lesnick of Phoenix and Debra Sample of Parker, Colo.; sons, Gordon of Phoenix and Jesse of Burbank, Calif.; brother, Bernard Freiden of Memphis, Tenn.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was born in Chicago October 30, 1934 and became a resident of the Valley 44 years ago. Lois was preceded in death in 1998 by her husband of 41 years Charles Jacob Coles. She is survived by her brother Robert Edelman; five children, Jeff, Perry, Scott, Lisa and Julie; and nine grandchildren. Lois will be missed by many longtime friends and family.Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 31st at Temple Beth Israel Sanctuary in Scottsdale. She was born in Chicago and has been a resident of the Valley for the past 10 years. Todd Livingston KannTodd Livingston Kann, age 38, passed away March 29, 2004 in Brecksville, Ohio. He was born in Phoenix. Todd was a graduate of ASU and was a language teacher. Todd served in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Japan during his tour of duty.Survivors include his mother Carole Ann Kann, brother Scott Kann, half-sister Michelle Kann, and his grandfather Maurice J. Roth. Graveside funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 2nd, in Phoenix Memorial Park Cemetery, 200 W. Beardsley Rd. in Phoenix. Leonard KlahrLeonard Klahr, age 81, passed away March 27, 2004 in Phoenix after a lengthy illness through which he showed incredible strength.He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and moved to the Valley 56 years ago. Lenny was a graduate of Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y. During WWII, he served with the U.S. Army Combat Engineers in the Pacific Theater of War. Lenny was co-founder of United Produce, one of the largest produce companies in the Southwest, and was associated there for 20 years. Before he retired, he became an independent produce broker for many years. His dry sense of humor was enjoyed by all who knew and loved him. He loved golf, music and reading. But most of all, he loved his family. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Elayne, son Elliott (Bonnie) Klahr, daughters Suzanne (John) Bowers and Patricia Klahr, and grandchildren Ashley and Max Klahr.
