Anger over Jesus' death misdirected

Editor:
I was raised in a Christian church, and my relatives are Christian, but I am a Jew by choice. I am really amazed that some Christians have it in their hearts to have anger over anyone killing Christ. Suppose that no one had killed him - then no one would have died for their sins. If it was ordained or prophesied that Jesus would die for the sins of mankind, then he was, indeed, supposed to die. That means to me that if Jews indeed killed Christ, then Christians should be thankful. However, I do not believe that Jews killed Jesus.

I think that we as Jews do not have a fear that someone will come along with a religion that will make us quake in our shoes. Other religions seem to have that problem. Look at Islam just as an example. Persons of other faiths are tortured and murdered outright if they try to convert Muslims. Are they so unsure of their faith that they have to be afraid that someone might prove that Islam is wrong?

Federation should stick to fund raising

Editor:
The Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix will shortly be taking positions on public policy issues. Will federation next start lobbying? Will federation next become a political action committee? I presume if I disagree with a position taken by federation on a public policy issue, it would be appropriate for me to discontinue my annual charitable contribution. I thought federation's sole purpose was to raise money for worthy causes.
