People on the move

Dan H. Fellner of Gilbert, faculty associate at Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, has received a grant through the new Fulbright Senior Specialists Program and will teach an intensive course in public relations this summer in Lithuania. This is Fellner's second Fulbright grant. In 2001-2002, he spent three semesters teaching journalism and public relations at universities in Riga, Latvia, as a participant in the Fulbright Scholars Program.

Brown & Bain, P.A. is establishing the C. Randall Bain Scholarship at the College of Law at Arizona State University, a $300,000 fund, which will be awarded on the basis of academic accomplishment and need. The gift honors Randy Bain for his 70th birthday.

Stephen Cohen, a Scottsdale doctor of optometry, was one of six doctors nationwide to be awarded Vision Service Plan's (V.S.P.) "2003 People First Award." The award included a $1,000 donation from V.S.P. to charity, and Cohen selected Prevent Blindness Arizona. Cohen was recognized for his involvement in the community, including serving as past president of both the Desert Foothills Theater and the Scottsdale-North Rotary Club and past vice-president of Phoenix Children's Hospital community outreach program, as well as professional involvement as past president of the Arizona Optometric Association, co-ordinator of the Blue Cross Blue Shield "Health Safari Van" vision program for underprivileged school children and the three-year-old "Eyes On" program in which doctors statewide offer free eye exams in exchange for donations to designated local charities. Contact Cohen at 480-513-3937.
