Cook-off celebrationAs part of their 25th anniversary celebration, Chompie's has decided to turn the cooking reins over to the public for a cook-off to be held at the Scottsdale location. In keeping with the restaurant's main fare, the cook-off will feature traditional New York or Jewish recipes."It's an effort to explore the importance and nostalgia of homemade recipes," says Tucker. Saturday, March 13, will be the cook-off day for cheesecake and chicken soup; on Saturday, March 27, noodle kugel and cabbage rolls will be on the menu. Competitors do not have to make both of the dishes that will be featured on a particular day; however, they must prepare their dish at home and make enough to give out approximately 20 small samples. Winners will have their recipes published in "Chompie's Chit Chat," the monthly Chompie's newsletter, so a typed copy of the recipe is also necessary to enter. Participants can sign up at a Chompie's location or send an e-mail to chompthese@yahoo.com. |
