Jessica Megan Stern, daughter of Sheila and Harry Stern of Phoenix, will become a bat mitzvah Jan. 3, 2004, at Beth El Congregation.

Grandparents are Arlene Schoenfeld of Phoenix; Carla Stern of Los Angeles; the late Samuel Schoenfeld; and the late Erwin Stern.

Great-grandparents are the late Julia and Maurice Karch; and the late Frieda and Louis Schoenfeld.

Jessica attends The King David School. Her hobbies include singing, dancing, cooking and flag-football.



Daniel Jordan Pont, son of Pam Pont of Phoenix and Jeff Pont of Scottsdale, will become a bar mitzvah Jan. 3, 2004, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Lenore Weiss of Southfield, Mich.; Leo Weiss of Las Vegas; and Norma and Nelson Pont of Franklin, Mich.

Daniel attends Cocopah Middle School. His hobbies include baseball, hockey and playing video games.

For his mitzvah project, Daniel collected shoes for needy children, visited a veterans' nursing home, and made sandwiches for the homeless.

Jacob Samuel Schaffert, son of Judy and Michael Schaffert of Phoenix, will become a bar mitzvah Jan. 3, 2004, at Temple Solel.

Grandparents are Leanne and Arnold Rabin of Phoenix; Frances Schaffert of Williamston, Mich.; and the late Grahl Schaffert.

Great-grandparents are the late Pauline and Joseph Levine; and the late Lena and Samuel Rabinowitz.

Jacob attends Pardes Jewish Day School. His hobbies include soccer, playing with Magic cards and growing plants.

For his mitzvah project, Jacob gleaned citrus, cooked meals for friends and stocked shelves at the Paradise Valley Emergency Food Bank.



Jared Skylar Schwartz, son of Pamela and Gary Schwartz of Cave Creek, will become a bar mitzvah Jan. 3, 2004, at Temple Beth Israel.

Grandparents are Anita and Harold Schwartz of Boynton Beach, Fla.
