Obituaries

Dolores Weinberger

Dolores Weinberger of Phoenix died Dec. 8, 2003. She was 76. She was born in Bronx, N.Y., and moved to Arizona in 1962 from Michigan. She, along with her husband, was a former owner of Regal Lighting. She was a member of Jewish War Veterans Ladies Auxiliary, a member of United Order of True Sisters, a former Girl Scout Leader and a member of Temple Beth Israel.

Survivors include her husband, Leon; daughters, Gerri Dames of Phoenix and Bonnie Wilson of Peoria; brother, Eugene Tapper of Phoenix; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Beth Israel Cemetery, with Rabbi Albert Plotkin officiating. Arrangements were made by Sinai Mortuary. Contributions are suggested to American Diabetes Association, 8125 N. 23rd Ave., #222, Phoenix 85021; or American Heart Association, 2929 S. 48th St., Tempe 85282.



Dorice Weiner

Dorice Weiner of Phoenix died Dec. 7, 2003. She was 78. She was born in New Haven, Conn., and moved to Arizona in 1956. She was a medical technician. She was active in community theater and was a member of T.O.P.S. Society and K.O.P.S. Society.

Survivors include her daughter, Suzette Dollar of Avondale; sisters, Sylvia Springel and Basha Smith, both of Florida; and two grandchildren.

Services were held at Beth Israel Cemetery, with Jack Silver officiating. Arrangements were made by Sinai Mortuary. Contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix 85016.



Morton Joel Sokolsky

Morton Joel Sokolsky, age 72, passed away December 7, 2003 in Scottsdale. He was born in Chicago and has been a resident of the Valley for the past 30 years. Morton was a retired insurance agent associated with Cigna Insurance.

Survivors include his wife Barbra Sokolsky of Scottsdale; sons Barry Sokolsky of Chicago, Alan (Susan) Sokolsky of Higley, and Stuart (Jennifer Mangel) Sokolsky of Scottsdale; sisters Joan Cohen of Vancouver, B.C. and Barbara Skol of Chicago; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services and interment were held in Chicago on December 10, 2003. Contributions in his memory are requested to American Diabetes Association, 8125 N. 23rd Ave., #222, Phoenix, AZ 85021. Arrangements by Sinai Mortuary.
