B'nai Mitzvah

Daniel Alan Salevitz, son of Carrie and Mark Salevitz of Scottsdale, will become a bar mitzvah Dec. 13, 2003, at Temple Beth Israel.

Grandparents are Cari and Bernard Salevitz of Scottsdale.

Daniel attends Mountain Trail Middle School. His hobbies include playing tennis, video games and the guitar, and volunteering at the Animals Benefit Club.



Max Ambrose, son of Susie Ambrose of Scottsdale and Keith Ambrose of Phoenix, will become a bar mitzvah Dec. 13, 2003, at Temple Solel.

Grandparents are Rozanne Meklir of Oak Park, Mich.; Ruth and Sam Ambrose of Scottsdale; the late Jerry Meklir; and the late Mickey Ambrose.

Max attends Pardes Jewish Day School. His hobbies are engineering and design, computer games and sports.

For his mitzvah project, Max collected books and toys for Phoenix Children's Hospital. He also participated in the 13 Mitzvoh project at Temple Solel.



Alexander Ambrose, son of Susie Ambrose of Scottsdale and Keith Ambrose of Phoenix, will become a bar mitzvah Dec. 13, 2003, at Temple Solel.

Grandparents are Rozanne Meklir of Oak Park, Mich.; Ruth and Sam Ambrose of Scottsdale; the late Jerry Meklir; and the late Mickey Ambrose.

Alexander attends Pinnacle High School. His hobbies are basketball, baseball, music and movies.

For his mitzvah project, Alexander discussed organ donation and distributed materials to increase awareness, and collected books and toys for Phoenix Children's Hospital. He also participated in the 13 Mitzvoh project at Temple Solel.



Ethan Chase Weissman, son of Terrell and David Weissman of Phoenix, will become a bar mitzvah Dec. 13, 2003, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Ethel and Martin Weissman of Schenectady, N.Y.; Barbra Baker of Round Lake, N.Y.; and the late Charles Baker.

Ethan attends Greenway Middle School. His hobbies include playing percussion in the school band, playing soccer and working as a soccer referee.

For his mitzvah project, Ethan worked with at-risk children and helped out with the Succoth Outreach Program.



Michael William Silverman, son of Joan and Gary Silverman of Scottsdale, will become a bar mitzvah on Dec. 13, 2003, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Jeanne and Edward Levy and Tom Silverman, all of Scottsdale; and the late Hilda Silverman.

Michael attends Cocopah Middle School. His hobbies include sports, computers and comedy.

For his mitzvah project, Michael worked at a summer reading camp for young children and donated items to Liberty Wildlife Foundation.



Zachary Eli DeMar, son of Anita DeMar and Lee DeMar, both of Phoenix, will become a bar mitzvah Dec. 13, 2003, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Barbara and Joe Kopelson of Phoenix; and Josie and Jack Hernandez of Kansas City, Mo.

Great-grandparents are Lucille Lewis of Memphis, Tenn.; Helen Miller of Summerville, Mo.; and the late Ben Lewis.

Zachary attends Explorer Middle School. His hobbies are football and cars.

For his mitzvah project, Zachary worked at a food bank.
