Obituaries

Fanny Schlomowitz

Fanny Schlomowitz of Scottsdale died Nov. 26, 2003. She was 94. She was born in Klimiec, Poland, and moved to Arizona in 1978 from Brooklyn, N.Y. She was a retired secretary for a law firm. She was a member of Pioneer Women and a volunteer for Jewish National Fund and Kivel Care Center.

Survivors include her daughters, Toby Weinstein of Scottsdale and Erika Morgenstern of Phoenix; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services were held at Sinai Mortuary Chapel. Burial was at Eretz Hachaim Cemetery in Mifgash Shamshon, Israel. Arrangements were made by Sinai Mortuary. Contributions are suggested to American Red Magen David for Israel, PMB 335-10645 N. Tatum Blvd., Suite #200, Phoenix 85028.



Frances L. Adams

Frances L. Adams of Phoenix died Dec. 2, 2003. She was 83. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and moved to Arizona in 1998 from Euclid, Ohio.

Survivors include her daughter, Sheila B. Lovinger of Glendale; brothers, Jerome Mendelsohn of Cleveland and Robert I. Mendelsohn of Indianapolis; and two grandchildren.

Services will be held today (Friday, Dec. 5) at Beth Israel Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Sinai Mortuary. Contributions are suggested to Kivel Campus of Care, 3020 N. 36th St., Phoenix 85018.



Louis Miller

Louis Miller of Scottsdale died Nov. 26, 2003. He was 95. He was born in Donora, Pa., and moved to Arizona in 1976 from New Hampshire. He was a real estate manager. He served on the board of the Chase Family Home Association and as head of the Jewish Refugee Committee of Manchester, N.H. He also served as president of the Jewish Community Center in Manchester.

Survivors include his wife, Meredith; daughters, Devra Miller Breslow of Los Angeles and Linda B. Miller of South Wellfleet and Wellesley, Mass.; stepdaughters, Roslyn McCormick of Tempe, Cynthia Scholer of Chandler, and Melissa Steiner of Dallas; stepson, Bradley Gale of Rochester, N.Y.; sister, Sally Brash of Tucson; and five grandchildren.

Services were held at Temple Solel Chapel, with Rabbi Alan Berlin officiating. Arrangements were made by Sinai Mortuary. Contributions are suggested to Temple Solel, 6805 E. McDonald Drive, Paradise Valley 85253.



Myron G. Weinstein

Myron G. Weinstein of Scottsdale died Dec. 2, 2003. He was 78. He was born in Milwaukee, Wis., and moved to Arizona in 1992 from New Jersey. He was a retired warehouse manager and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Temple Havurat Emet.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy; daughter, Mindy Miraglia of Scottsdale; and son, David of Scottsdale.

Graveside services will be held today (Friday, Dec. 5), with Rabbi Lester Frazin officiating. Burial is at the V.A. Cemetery.

Sam J. Winnick

Sam J. Winnick, February 14, 1916 - November 29, 2003.

Preceded in death by parents Simon and Annie Winnick and brothers Herman, Sol and David. After a long and wonderful life Sam passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Survived by his wife of 58 years Madeline; son Scott (Kathy); daughters Andrea (Norman) Cohen, Dianne (Bruce) Dubish, and Shari (Albert) Alyeshmerni; brother Maurice Winnick; and sister Ty (Sherman) Gordon. Also survived by seven grandchildren: T.J. Rubin; Bradley and Todd Dubish; and Drew, Brooke, Chase, and Zoee Alyeshmerni. Funeral services and interment were held in St. Paul, Minn.

Memorials preferred to donor's favorite charity. Arrangements by Hodroff & Sons, 651-698-8311.
