Obituaries

Lois Elaine Schloss

Lois Elaine Schloss of Scottsdale died Nov. 3, 2003. She was 73. She was born in Chicago and moved to Arizona in 1987. She was an interior decorator. She was a member of Temple Solel and a member of Brandeis University National Women's Committee.

Survivors include her husband, Walter; daughter, Carol Miller of Deerfield, Ill.; son, Eric of Glenview, Ill.; and four grandchildren.

Services were held at Green Acres Chapel with Rabbi Bonnie Morris officiating. Arrangements were handled by Sinai Mortuary. Contributions are suggested to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 2990 E. Northern Ave., #E-100, Phoenix 85028.



Esther E. Newman

Esther E. Newman of Phoenix died Oct. 18, 2003. She was 92. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and moved to Arizona in 1994 from Rhode Island. She was a homemaker and a life member of Hadassah.

Survivors include her daughter, Marlyn Cooper of Phoenix; son, Barry Newman of Warwick, R.I.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were handled by Sinai Mortuary.
