Benjamin Lord, son of Robert Lord of Phoenix, will become a bar mitzvah Oct. 11, 2003, at Temple Beth Israel.

Grandparents are Maxine Swartzman of Potomac, Md.; Shirley Samansky of Great Neck, N.Y.; Norman Lord of Washington, D.C.; and Lloyd Weinstein of Boston.

Benjamin attends Madison Meadows Middle School. His hobbies include golf.



Jordana Aryel Barness, daughter of Daron and Ron Barness of Paradise Valley, will become a bat mitzvah Oct. 11, 2003, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Shana and Louis Yuster of Encino, Calif.; the late Sharon Tuchin; and the late Gideon Barness.

Great-grandparents are Mollie Pearl of Los Angeles; and Emmanuel Tuchin of San Diego.

Jordana attends Mountainside Middle School. Her hobbies include tap dancing, singing in her school's choir and watching movies.

For her mitzvah project, Jordana collected new and gently used children's videos for local children's charities.



Sarah Ann Lustiger, daughter of Rachel and Richard Lustiger of Paradise Valley, will become a bat mitzvah Oct. 11, 2003, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Merle and E. Donald Shapiro and Kina and Marvin Lustiger, all of Scottsdale.

Sarah attends Cocopah Middle School. Her hobbies include playing piano, ceramics and reading.

For her mitzvah project, Sarah helped host the Consortium of Jewish Special Educators and Volunteers at a summer recreation program for children with special needs.



Andrew Berman Levin, son of Hope and Randy Levin of Phoenix, will become a bar mitzvah Oct. 11, 2003, at Temple Beth Israel.

Grandparents are Hy Levin of Phoenix; the late Martha Levin; and the late Esther and Sidney Berman.

Andrew attends Rancho Solano Private School. His hobbies include basketball and tennis.



Jordan Magers, son of Melisa and Hank Samson of Chandler, will become a bar mitzvah Oct. 11, 2003, at Temple Emanuel.

Grandparents are Sharon and Bernard Brodsky of Glendale.

Great-grandparent is Becky Brodsky of Oak Park, Mich.

Jordan attends Hendrix Junior High School. His hobbies include playing soccer.

For his mitzvah project, Jordan collected and donated cell phones and school supplies to a domestic violence shelter.
