B'nai Mitzvah

Ariel Elyse Salk, daughter of Cynthia and Elliot Salk of Scottsdale, will become a bat mitzvah Oct. 4, 2003, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Constance and Phillip Salk of Detroit; Georgia Gilbert of Prescott; Abraham Weinstein of Scottsdale; the late Bernice Weinstein; and the late Stanley Reed.

Great-grandparents are Mildred and Charles Loveall of Scottsdale.

Ariel attends Sunrise Middle School. Her hobbies are singing, dancing and acting.

For her mitzvah project, Ariel entertained elderly residents at a senior center and raised money for Phoenix Children's Hospital.



Nicholas Benjamin Ansel, son of Yvette and Gary Ansel of Scottsdale, will become a bar mitzvah Oct. 4, 2003, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Loni and Darrell Ansel of Minnetonka, Minn.; Susan and Lawrence Hellman of New York City; and the late Marianne Hellman.

Nicholas attends Cheyenne Traditional School. His hobbies are sports and music.

For his mitzvah project, Nicholas delivered meals to homebound people and helped conduct Shabbat services at Kivel Campus of Care.



Emily Elyse Miller, daughter of Celeste and Greg Miller of Scottsdale, will become a bat mitzvah Oct. 4, 2003, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Carol and Sheldon Miller and Mary Verdi, all of Scottsdale; and the late John Verdi.

Great-grandparents are Kate Klein of Hallandale, Fla.; and the late Lou Klein.

Emily attends Desert Shadows Middle School. Her hobbies include sewing and art.

For her mitzvah project, Emily served meals at the Saint Vincent de Paul shelter and entertained children in Paradise Valley Hospital.
